SPEAKER
STUART MINNAAR
Founder & Investment Lead
MobilityX Africa
ABOUT
Stuart Minnaar has spent 15 years working at the intersection of capital and early-stage companies across Africa, the UK, and the EU. His current focus is narrower: he builds the data infrastructure, financing structures, and investor networks that move capital into African electric mobility.
He founded MobilityX Africa in 2024. It is a specialist investment platform covering 220+ African e-mobility companies and 150+ capital allocators across 15 markets. Intelligence is not sold, It is what makes the investment work defensible.
Stuart has personally interviewed 150+ African mobility founders to build the sector's most credible ground-level market picture. That fieldwork underpins the asset financing models he structures for operators who cannot access conventional debt without diluting equity.
WHAT MOBILITYX AFRICA DOES
The platform operates across three lines:
Ecosystem intelligence: The only independently built, continuously maintained database of African e-mobility operators, investors, and deal flow across 15 markets.
Infrastructure financing: SPV-based asset finance for batteries and charging infrastructure, structured on blended concessional and commercial capital. One pilot in active execution.
Equity syndication: Deal-by-deal co-investment for DFIs, executives, and impact-aligned investors into vetted African mobility operators.
Stuart manages AMIN, the African Mobility Investment Network, with 60+ active members including DFIs, venture capital firms, and corporate venture arms.
He produces the State of the African Mobility Ecosystem (SAME) Report and the Top 50 African Mobility Companies ranking, both published annually.
