AFrica EV summit
The Africa EV Summit is a cross-continental platform connecting African, European, and international stakeholders working across electric mobility, energy systems, infrastructure, financing, logistics, manufacturing, and industrial development.
Launched through the Nordic-Africa EV Summit in Oslo in May 2026 and continuing in Addis Ababa in September 2026, the summit creates a shared space for governments, industry leaders, utilities, investors, development finance institutions, researchers, technology providers, and ecosystem builders to collaborate around the future of mobility across Africa.
The initiative was created from a growing recognition that Africa’s electric mobility transition is accelerating rapidly and requires stronger international collaboration around implementation, infrastructure readiness, financing, regional integration, digital connectivity, and long-term ecosystem development.
As the diplomatic capital of Africa and home of the African Union, Addis Ababa provides a strategic platform for bringing together African priorities with international expertise, investment, technology, and partnership opportunities.
Across the continent, governments, utilities, operators, investors, and infrastructure developers are advancing electric mobility at increasing speed. From public transport and logistics fleets to charging infrastructure, renewable integration, manufacturing, and corridor electrification, the ecosystem is moving from early pilots toward larger-scale implementation.
The Africa EV Summit aims to support this next phase by creating a practical and implementation-oriented platform focused on coordination, partnerships, financing, infrastructure, policy, and scalable ecosystem development across African markets.
