Bringing the experience of everyday electric-vehicle users into charging policy, technical standards and the global EV transition.

Petter Haugneland is Assistant Secretary General of the Norwegian EV Association and Vice Chair of the Global EV Alliance. His work connects the practical needs of electric-vehicle drivers with policy, infrastructure and industry decision-making.

Representing the interests of more than 100,000 EV drivers in Norway, Petter brings a user-focused perspective to charging access, vehicle ownership, consumer confidence and the everyday realities that shape electric-vehicle adoption.

Through the Norwegian EV Association, he works with policymakers, industry stakeholders and consumers in one of the world's most mature electric-vehicle markets. This experience offers important lessons on charging reliability, interoperability, market incentives and the evolution of driver expectations.

As Vice Chair of the Global EV Alliance, Petter contributes to an international network of EV-driver associations that shares evidence, experience and best practice across markets. His work helps ensure that the global transition reflects the needs of the people who use electric vehicles every day.

Petter holds a Master's degree in political science from the University of Oslo and began his career at CICERO, the Center for International Climate Research. At the Africa EV Summit 2026, he contributes a Nordic and global driver perspective to discussions on African e-mobility standards and continental coordination.
