Mattias Larsen is an Industrial Development Expert at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), working at the intersection of skills development, entrepreneurship, fair production and youth employment.
Within UNIDO's Skills Development, Entrepreneurship and Fair Production Unit, Mattias supports approaches that align vocational training with the changing needs of industry and emerging green sectors.
His work focuses on sustainable skills-development programmes that prepare young people for employment while helping enterprises access the capabilities required for cleaner, more productive and more inclusive industrial growth.
Mattias builds on earlier experience as a development researcher, combining evidence-based analysis with programme design and practical implementation. This perspective is particularly relevant as electric mobility creates new requirements for technicians, operators, entrepreneurs and industrial value chains across Africa.
