Jan Tore Gjøby

Jan Tore Gjøby is an advisor in electric mobility and smart energy use, and the founder of Gjøby Consulting in Norway. He has worked in eMobility since 2011, when his first assignment was to coordinate the deployment of one of Norway's earliest DC fast chargers. Since then he has contributed to the launch of several Nordic charging networks, including Fortum Charge & Drive (now Recharge) and Ionity, and works across charging infrastructure, vehicle-grid integration and standardisation.

He chairs the Norwegian national committee mirroring IEC TC69, the body behind the global standards for EV charging, and takes part in work in CENELEC and UNECE. With a background in electrical engineering and industrial IT, and more than 500 courses and presentations delivered, he works where technical standards meet what users and grid operators actually experience.
