Iman Abdulwassi Abubaker is an Urban Mobility Lead at the World Resources Institute (WRI), with ten years of experience advancing sustainable, safe and inclusive mobility across African cities.

She leads multi-country initiatives and works with governments and partners on public transport, walking and cycling, road safety and the transition to electric mobility.

Her work spans policy and technical advisory, research, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and emerging approaches to financing and private-sector engagement. A consistent focus is ensuring mobility systems are inclusive and responsive to local needs.

Iman holds a Master’s degree in Environment, Development and Policy from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor’s degree in Environment and Development Studies from Mount Holyoke College.
