Hiten Parmar is Executive Director of the electric MISSION in South Africa, a non-profit organisation dedicated to accelerating sustainable mobility and energy systems through market development, industry collaboration and impactful projects.

With more than two decades of professional experience, Hiten is one of Southern Africa's leading voices on electric mobility, clean transport and the intersection of technology, policy and economic development.

He holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and an Honours degree in Business Administration. This combination of technical expertise and strategic leadership informs his work with governments, manufacturers, utilities, investors, industry associations and development partners across South Africa and the wider continent.

At The Electric MISSION, Hiten leads initiatives that support policy development, market readiness, innovation and capacity building for electric transport. He also serves on the board of the South African Energy Storage Association, strengthening the connection between energy storage and transport electrification.

Hiten champions practical cooperation between the public and private sectors to build resilient transport systems that improve air quality, strengthen energy security and create new economic opportunities across Africa.
