Gideon Chikamai is an economist and transport-policy specialist with more than 14 years of experience in transport policy, planning, regulation and regional integration across Africa.
He previously served as an Economist in Kenya's State Department for Transport and later as Deputy Director, Transport Policy and Planning at the Northern Corridor Transit and Transport Coordination Authority.
At UNEP, Gideon supports green-freight and corridor-decarbonisation programmes and serves as Heavy-Duty Vehicles Lead for East Africa, working on cleaner freight technologies, electric freight, emissions modelling and green-freight strategies.
