Gaurav Anand, widely known as Katongole, is a business leader with more than 23 years of international experience across the automotive, electric-mobility and energy sectors in India and East Africa. He has built, scaled and transformed businesses for multinational corporations, global mobility companies and high-growth startups, helping organisations enter new markets and deliver sustainable growth.

Gaurav began his career in India, developing extensive experience in sales, business development, customer experience and operational leadership with organisations including Tata Motors, General Motors, TVS and Blue Star.

He later moved to East Africa, where he has spent more than a decade leading market expansion and business transformation across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and the wider region. He played a key role in establishing and growing Hero MotoCorp's presence through Mantra Motorbike East Africa, strengthening dealer networks, after-sales operations and customer engagement. At SPIRO, he led commercial growth and contributed to scaling one of Africa's largest electric-motorcycle ecosystems.

As Country Head at SUN Mobility, a global pioneer in battery-swapping technology, Gaurav is advancing innovative clean-mobility solutions across Africa. His expertise spans market-entry strategy, commercial leadership, business development, after-sales service, dealer and distribution networks, organisational transformation, strategic partnerships and customer experience.

Recognised for his practical leadership style and strategic vision, Gaurav works with private-sector organisations, governments, investors and development partners to accelerate electric-mobility adoption and strengthen Africa's clean-transport ecosystem.
