Advancing a coordinated continental transport agenda that connects African markets, strengthens regional integration and accelerates sustainable electric mobility.

Eng. Eric Ntagengerwa is Head of the Transport and Mobility Division at the African Union Commission, where he leads the development of the African Union's continental electric mobility agenda and supports Member States in accelerating the transition to sustainable transport.

With more than 20 years of experience in transport infrastructure, policy development and regional integration, Eric is one of Africa's leading experts on multimodal transport systems and sustainable mobility.

At the African Union, he coordinates continental transport policies and flagship programmes under Agenda 2063, including the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa. He has played a central role in advancing the Continental Framework for Electric Mobility, working with governments, Regional Economic Communities, development partners and the private sector.

Before joining the African Union Commission, Eric served as Principal Civil Aviation Officer at the East African Community, leading regional aviation policy harmonisation and airspace integration. Earlier, he was Head of Transport Planning at the Rwanda Transport Development Agency.

Eric holds a Master's degree in Transportation Management and an IATA certification in Aviation Policy and Regulation. His expertise spans transport policy, infrastructure planning, climate-resilient mobility, trade facilitation and regional integration.
