ABOUT
Dr. Dawit H. Gebremeskel is an Assistant Profess or of Electrical Power Engineering at Addis Ababa University, specializing in energy systems modeling, transport electrification, and techno-economic analysis using open-source tools. His research focuses on developing cost-effective pathways for sustainable electricity and electric mobility in Ethiopia and sub-Saharan Africa, including EV charging infrastructure planning, transition pathway analysis, and spatio-temporal assessment of EV charging demand and its impact on the power grid. He has led major research initiatives, including the OpenMod4Africa project at Addis Ababa University, and played a key role in establishing the African Energy Modelling Network (AEMN), where he currently serves as Co-Chief Officer. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals and contributes to evidence-based energy and transport policy in Africa.
