Connecting road-safety evidence, continental policy coordination and electric-mobility implementation across Africa.
David Niyonsenga leads the Secretariat of the African Road Safety Observatory (AfRSO), an African Union initiative advancing data-driven road-safety policies and coordinated action across the continent.
He supports African Union Member States in reducing road crashes through targeted policy, capacity building and system-wide interventions. His work addresses safer infrastructure, vehicle-safety standards, road-user practices and effective post-crash response.
Alongside this mandate, David coordinates electric mobility within the African Union Commission. He provides technical leadership for implementation of the Continental Electric Mobility Framework for Africa.
His work promotes integrated, safe and sustainable mobility solutions aligned with Africa’s wider transport and development objectives.
