Biography

Building Africa’s
EV workforce.

Aligning practical training, national curricula and industry needs with the accelerating deployment of electric vehicles across Africa.

Chandi Mosomi is a sustainable-energy and automotive engineer who leads electric-vehicle training at WTS Foundation. His work focuses on building the technical workforce and institutional capacity required to support Africa’s transition to electric mobility.

He has led EV technician training programmes in Kenya and Rwanda, working with industry, TVET institutions and development partners to translate emerging EV technologies into practical, employment-oriented skills. He led the development and piloting of Kenya’s first national EV technician training curriculum.

Alongside his work at WTS Foundation, Chandi is an automotive-engineering lecturer and researcher. His research covers battery circularity, second-life battery applications and scenario modelling, and he has also contributed to e-mobility policy development in Kenya.

At the Nordic–Africa EV Summit, Chandi contributes a practical perspective on aligning curricula, certification and industry placements with Africa’s growing electric-mobility market.
