ABOUT
H.E. Bareo Hassen serves as State Minister at Ethiopia's Ministry of Transport and Logistics, where he plays a leading role in shaping the country's transport policies and overseeing one of Africa's most ambitious transitions towards sustainable mobility. He has been instrumental in advancing Ethiopia's green transport agenda, supporting policies that accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles, modernize public transport, improve logistics, and strengthen road safety nationwide.
As State Minister, Bareo has championed Ethiopia's vision of becoming a continental leader in electric mobility through progressive policy reforms, investment incentives, and the expansion of charging infrastructure. Under his leadership, the Ministry has worked closely with public institutions, utilities, manufacturers, investors, and development partners to create an enabling environment for the rapid growth of the country's EV ecosystem.
