H.E. Bareo Hassen serves as State Minister at Ethiopia's Ministry of Transport and Logistics, where he plays a leading role in shaping national transport policies and overseeing one of Africa's most ambitious transitions towards sustainable mobility.

He has been instrumental in advancing Ethiopia's green transport agenda, supporting policies that accelerate electric vehicle adoption, modernise public transport, improve logistics and strengthen road safety nationwide.

As State Minister, Bareo has championed Ethiopia's ambition to become a continental leader in electric mobility through progressive policy reforms, investment incentives and charging infrastructure. The Ministry works with public institutions, utilities, manufacturers, investors and development partners to strengthen the country's EV ecosystem.

Beyond Ethiopia, Bareo is an active voice in regional transport and infrastructure cooperation. He has chaired high-level African Union transport meetings and represents Ethiopia at continental and international forums on sustainable transport, logistics and climate-smart mobility.
