Baerte de Brey is Chief International Officer at ElaadNL, the Dutch knowledge and innovation centre for smart and sustainable electric-vehicle charging.
His work examines the long-term impact of electric mobility on electricity grids and helps develop sustainable business cases around the transition. His areas of focus include vehicle-to-grid integration, regulatory barriers, cybersecurity and smart charging.
Baerte graduated from Leiden University with a law degree in 2001 and received an MBA from Nyenrode Business University in 2006.
Through his work across European and international markets, he contributes to the alignment of charging standards and regulatory approaches, supporting interoperable solutions that benefit grid operators, mobility providers and EV users.
