Agnes Árnadóttir is the Co-Founder and CEO of Brim Explorer, a Norwegian company developing and operating electric and hybrid-electric vessels for sustainable ocean tourism.

Drawing on a background in political science and her family's whale-watching heritage in Húsavík, Iceland, Agnes has helped turn a commitment to cleaner maritime experiences into a commercially proven tourism business.

Since Brim Explorer was founded in 2018, the company has grown from a single-location operation into a multi-site enterprise with routes in Tromsø, Lofoten, Bodø, Oslo, Stavanger and Svalbard. Its expansion shows that lower-emission maritime tourism can be both operationally credible and commercially scalable.

Under Agnes's leadership, Brim Explorer has grown to around 100 employees and revenues exceeding NOK 220 million. The company's electric and hybrid-electric vessels give passengers quieter access to marine landscapes while reducing emissions and underwater noise.

At the Africa EV Summit 2026, Agnes brings a maritime perspective to the wider electric-mobility conversation. Her work offers practical lessons on clean transport technology, customer experience, business growth and the infrastructure required to electrify vessels and other heavy-duty mobility applications.
