Biography

Making the
transition
human.

Electric mobility is ultimately about people: what moves them to change, what helps them make the change work and how their experience can guide the wider transition.

Ellen Hiep is a Dutch EV advocate, moderator and speaker who has been active in electric mobility since 2011. She serves on the board of the Dutch EV Drivers’ Association (VER) and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Global EV Alliance (GEVA).

GEVA connects more than 60 EV driver associations around the world, with a growing community across Africa. Through this network, Ellen follows how EV adoption evolves in very different markets—and the practical lessons those markets can share.

Her work focuses on the people driving the transition: what motivates them to go electric, what they need to make it work and how everyday experience can turn ambition into lasting adoption. She regularly hosts conversations at international EV events, connecting government, industry and the EV community.

At the Africa EV Summit, Ellen brings insights from Europe’s transition while opening space for a two-way exchange about what Europe and Africa can learn from one another. As Master of Ceremony, she will guide both conference days with curiosity, clarity and a strong human perspective.
